Creative Development
Textiles offers the opportunity to develop creatively by exploring a wide range of textile methods and techniques, within a specified theme or brief.
There are many textile disciplines on offer for pupils to explore which include constructed, dyed, woven, knitted, printed and painted textiles.
At Key stage 3 pupils learn the basic skills needed to enable them to challenge their thoughts and ideas, in order to produce a variety of textile products.
Pupils studying Textiles at GCSE and 'A' Level are encouraged to extend and expand their acquired knowledge and skills base; to produce work that displays a personal response in the area of fashion or furnishings, underpinned by artistic theory.
A textile activity session is also run on a weekly basis.
