A Range of Sports
Sport is an important feature of life at Adcote. We not only strive to encourage excellence in sport, but also strongly encompass the 'Sport for all' ethic. At Adcote we play a variety of sports, in both PE lessons and through activites. Sport is regarded as very important by the school and girls have the opportunity to enjoy netball, athletics, archery, golf, badminton, rowing and judo with tuition available for horse riding, tennis and swimming.
With a long tradition of sporting achievements in national and regional competitions and of individual successes, Adcote School has a well-established reputation within the area for sporting excellence.
In the Autumn term the girls, usually Years 7, 8 and 9, play Netball and Lacrosse competitively. The Netball is part of the Shropshire Schools League and the Lacrosse is against local independent schools.
In the Summer term, Rounders is the main sport we play competitively in the Shropshire School League, however we have just recently received a small grant from the Shropshire LTA and are now in the process of increasing the profile of tennis and hopefully we will be entering tournaments and arranging fixtures.
In PE lessons girls also have the opportunity to play rugby and participate in gymnastics and athletics.
