Junior Trip to Wem Baptist Church

On Friday 18th November, J2 and J3 went to 'Riding with Giants' at Wem. It was really fun. We went in two minibuses. First we sang songs and danced with the songs. Then we split into groups. One group did some colouring and questions on paper and then the other group saw a person being baptised. He was pushed into the water. The speaker also
talked about bread and wine. Then we switched over and had a drink and biscuit. After it was time to ask a few questions - they were really good questions! We got on the buses and went back to school. When we got to school we had lunch. It was a really good day!

Our Trip to Derwen College

On Wednesday 12th October 2011, the prefects and Head Girl of Adcote Junior School along with a member of staff, all went to a nearby college, where young adults with both learning and physical disabilities learn how to lead independent lives. We all went to donate the Harvest boxes we collected in our Harvest assembly. We have done this for the people of Derwen College for many years; on our tour around the College we saw some cute llamas.

Cake Sale in aid of the RSPB

On Wednesday 19th October, the Juniors had a cake sale to try and raise money for the R.S.P.B. (The Royal Sociery for the Protection of Birds).

Cakes were priced from 10p-30p. We had a lovely variety of cakes to sell. We had chocolate cake, rice crispy cakes, fairy cakes, mud pies and lots more.

We did three cake sales. One for the Juniors at 11.25, one for the Seniors at 11.15 and one for the parents (and anyone who had any money left to spend) at 4pm.

Everyone made some lovely yummy cakes and all of them sold! It was an amazing day with the Variety Show taking place as well.

Altogether, we made an amazing £122.15.

We all had a fantastic time selling the cakes and were proud of the money raised for the R.S.P.B. The cake sale was a great success.

Talent Show

On Wednesday 19th October we performed in a talent show. I had a great time telling jokes with Ava in front of pupils, teachers and parents. My favourite joke that I told in front of everyone was how did the doofus get on the floor? The answer was that he tripped over a cordless phone.

I liked watching the seniors in the talent show. Especially when they were singing. I really enjoyed Daisy who was singing 'Somewhere over the rainbow". I had a brilliant day.

My experience at Adcote School

When I first arrived at Adcote School, I thought it was like a castle in a book. I love the beautiful gardens and all the animals like rabbits and pheasants. The school has a lot of history: the buildings are old and unusual. I like going to a girl's school. I like sharing a bedroom and chatting to friends in the evening.I have loved learning many lessons and my English has improved. I don't want to leave
this magical school!
