There was a good cross section of the Association present, including some who had not been back for many years.
The day started with coffee and the formal AGM, when a new committee was elected for the next three years. Diana Pritchard was re-elected as Chair/Co-ordinator for another term. She thanked the retiring committee for their help and support and introduced those who had been nominated for the new committee. Two new committee members were elected – Liz Dawson (Edwards) from 1977 and Isabel Moseley (Udale) from 1984. There is a full list of all the officers and the committee on this website. Ruth Lea gave a vote of thanks from us all to the officers and committee for their ongoing work to keep the Association running and in good health.
Following the formal proceedings of the meeting Diana introduced the headmaster Gary Wright to speak to us. He brought us up to date on all the different things that have been happening at the school in the past year, it was very encouraging to hear that numbers are up and the boarding house is full. He told us about the new heating system that can burn ‘anything’ and thereby save money and the environment! He also showed us the new uniform that has been introduced this term. (see picture)
Lunch followed with the opportunity to talk to Gary as he circulated around the tables and to catch up on the news from friends. Many then took the opportunity to rediscover old haunts in the school and the grounds before we all departed.
There are a few photos posted here on the website but it would be good to see any others that those present took on the day. Please send them to Fenella who can post them online for all to see.

Mary Perrins (Fisk 1955) writes of the reunion ‘Carol Dain (Clulee) and Di Hartrup (Whittaker) with Ann Chapman (Forrest) and Nina Gregson went to the Adcote Reunion in October 2011.
Di said that she and Carol had an interesting chat to the headmaster and were pleased to hear about expanding school numbers and the need to make more boarding bedrooms available. Nina wrote that ‘fire doors and other security precautions prevented wandering round upstairs; as she commented ‘we seemed to have so much more freedom in our days – V and VI form group walks to Valeswood, The Cliffe and other places – compared with the present!’
