Adcote School held its annual summer fete last Sunday and right on cue the heavens opened. Luckily the organisers at Adcote were well prepared for such eventualities decamping into the beautiful Grade I listed building. Children's cake and book stalls were alongside fine English craft stalls including traditional wooden toys from Grandpa's Toys; pretty fabric accessories from both Gingham Chicken and The Whistling Cowgirl; bean bags and decorations from Teany Beanies; Solo Alpaca with their wonderful wool clothing; Caterpillar Children's Books and even Ted Bruce weaving his beautiful willow baskets. With delicious cream teas and Pimms, a harpist and lashings of bunting, not to mention a roaring fire in the Great Hall: a quintessential English summer!
