Eighteen months ago Ryan Jervis head teacher of Adcote School, a small private girls school on the outskirts of Shrewsbury approached a number of local state schools to see if they would welcome a joint venture in fast tracking some children wanting to start their A-level courses early.
This week the results were announced and every pupil achieved an A-level pass in Critical Thinking and in most cases gaining exceptionally good grades.
"We are all really pleased to welcome to Adcote so many pupils from our neighbouring schools," says Ryan Jervis.
"We were obviously delighted to have enjoyed 100% success and for so many of the candidates to have gained the very top grades in AS-level even before many of them have completed their GCSE's.
"We have enjoyed this joint venture and for teacher Jenny Edwards and for our pupils especially, the sharing of our expertise and facilities has been very rewarding.
"The project does not stop here either with another cohort of pupils already in the early stages of preparing for their exams in the summer and a new group starting at Adcote in June.
"Any school or individual wishing to take part is very welcome to contact me at Adcote. All lesson take place in the late afternoon and supper is available." |
