It is not a sight you expect to see – a helicopter on the school grounds! On Thursday 4th March an army 'squirrel' helicopter landed in front of the school! It was extremely exciting, pupils and staff had been waiting with anticipation during their afternoon break time before it arrived. The landing was particularly impressive as it swept into view. Afterwards some lucky girls had the opportunity to take a closer look and sit inside the helicopter.

Glenmore win Inter-House Hockey tournament

On Wednesday 10th February Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils from Adcote School took part in the House Hockey Tournament. With games flowing to and fro, it was exciting to see the skills of so many young players. All the teams played very well and the competition was close between Haughton and Glenmore. Haughton played exceptionally well throughout the competition but were beaten to the title by Glenmore on goal difference. The hockey was exciting and skilful to watch but, more importantly, so was the spirit of inclusion shown by those more able players to their team mates.

Haughton win Inter-House Cross Country tournament

J2 and J3 took part in House Cross Country towards at the end of the Autumn Term. The girls were required to run around a set course around the school grounds. Holly Morgan came in first for Innage. The final results showed that Haughton took first place with Innage and Glenmore coming joint second. It was so pleasing to see that so many could take part with a spirit of fairness and good humour and yet also be highly competitive.
