Links with other schools

The school has a number of links with schools both in the independent and maintained sector. One of the most exciting recent developments has been the Critical Thinking Partnership forged with the Corbet School in Bashcurch.

This unique collaboration between two Shropshire schools in the private and state education sectors has resulted in a 100% examination success rate for all the pupils involved.

The initiative brings together students from Adcote School for Girls with pupils from The Corbet School Technology College, a Shropshire Council maintained secondary school in Baschurch to fast-track their studies by starting their A level courses early.

Students from both schools meet each week at Adcote for lessons in Critical Thinking followed by supper at the school. The results to date have been extremely impressive with every pupil achieving an A-level pass with the majority gaining exceptionally good grades.

Jenny Edwards, the Adcote teacher who has been involved in the project since it started, "A joint venture such as this is extremely rewarding for both the students and the staff. We are obviously delighted to have achieved a 100% success rate especially since so many of the candidates have gained top grades in AS-level even before many of them have completed their GCSEs."

Adcote's Headmaster, Gary Wright, added, "We are always keen to welcome pupils from other schools to Adcote, whether it's to share our sporting facilities or benefit from our academic expertise. All the lessons are planned for late afternoon so if any other schools or individuals are interested in taking part I would be only too pleased to discuss the opportunities available with them personally."
