A very successful inspection report for Adcote - January 2011
The school was inspected over a period of five days by six inspectors and the school has been judged good or excellent in every area.
The school was praised for its teaching, with lessons rated as good, with some outstanding lessons observed. The curricular and extra-curricular provision was rated as "good". The report found that the "pupils are well educated". The inspectors reported that the school's recent examination results have been significantly better than the national average, and where "the vast majority of pupils achieve places at their first choice of university". The report further mentions that this "this success owes much to the pupils' positive values, the good opportunities provided by the curriculum and the quality of the teaching they receive".
The inspectors recognised the schools ability to go beyond the classroom to develop its pupils into well-rounded, thoughtful and responsible adults, whose "manners and behaviour are exemplary". One of their principal findings is that the pupils' personal development is outstanding, with a "strong ethos of care, community and personal responsibility". The "excellent" pastoral care was commended so that the pupils become "independent and well-motivated individuals", whose "manners and behaviour are exemplary". The report also praises the of links between the school and parents, which are rated as "excellent"
Headmaster Gary Wright said "This is a great result for the school. I am proud of our wonderful pupils, the hard-working staff, and our very supportive parents. Adcote is a very special school, in a unique environment, with a very exciting future ahead."
